In the wake of Cyclone Alfred, SSKB has been actively assisting Owners and Committees to navigate the aftermath of this severe weather event. Our Client Solutions team worked tirelessly over the weekend to coordinate emergency repairs, assist with insurance claims, and provide crucial information to those affected.
Prioritising Urgent Assistance
Due to the severity of the cyclone, we are experiencing a high volume of enquiries via email and phone. Our teams are working diligently to respond as quickly as possible, prioritising urgent matters to ensure affected communities receive the support they need.
SSKB’s Community Managers and support teams are proactively reaching out to all Committees to facilitate make-safe works, urgent repairs, and insurance claims. Additionally, we are conducting daily update meetings with Johns Lyng Group and Insurance Brokers to ensure timely responses and service delivery for our clients.
Insurance Support and Certificates of Currency
As previously communicated, Certificates of Currency are available free of charge through the SSKB app and mySSKB web portal. These documents will assist owners with insurance claims during this challenging period.
For further assistance, please contact your SSKB Community Manager, Building Manager, or Strata Committee.
Emergency Make-Safe Repairs
If your property has sustained damage, emergency or make-safe repairs should be carried out as soon as possible to ensure safety and prevent further loss.
- Check with your Building Manager or Strata Committee – They may have already arranged for necessary repairs.
- For repair assistance, contact Johns Lyng Strata Services on 1300 092 863.
Please note that Johns Lyng Group is currently prioritising make-safe works and can only proceed if properties and surrounding roads are accessible. Due to widespread flooding, access is restricted in many areas. However, JLG has assured us they will attend within 24 hours of access becoming available.
If you are unsure who to call, contact the SES on 132 500 for emergency assistance.
Important: Keep records of all reports and costs, as insurers will review these before confirming claim eligibility.
