There are only a couple of days to go until the doors are opened to this year’s Living in Strata Body Corporate Trade Show.
Of late, the body corporate sector has seen a substantial shake-up with numerous amendments to the Body Corporate and Community Management Act 1997 (BCCM ACT), concerning lot entitlement changes and disclosure requirements on the sale of lots.
With these amendments and (ABS) data showing more people are choosing to live in strata than ever before there is a need to assist lot owners in understanding legislating and prospective industry developments.
As keynote speaker at this year’s Living in Strata Body Corporate Trade Show, the Attorney-General and Minister for Justice Jarrod Bleijie will speak on management rights, the latest on PAMDA (Property Agents and Motor Dealers Act) and provide a condensed property review.
The Living in Strata Trade Show is on Thursday, August 15 at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre from 3-6pm.
The Attorney-General will speak at 3pm.
SSKB Body Corporate Management Director Paul Wood will also deliver a presentation on “Where does the money go? A body corporate perspective”.
Mr Wood said it had become evident that lot owners were looking for reliable body corporate information and events like this provided an excellent platform to communicate with industry professionals.
The free event will also see specialist suppliers to the industry exhibit on the day with experts including the Commissioner’s Office, Body Corporate Managers and solicitors offering free advice and tips to attendees.
The annual event is now in its 6th year and is expected to be the largest to date.
Living in Strata is an initiative of SSKB, helping make strata simple.
