Highlights from the Gold Coast Living in Strata Tradeshow!

In an afternoon of education, information and socialisation, attendees at this year’s Living in Strata Body Corporate Trade Show had the opportunity to listen to the latest in property news from industry professionals and speak (one on one) with suppliers to the industry- who were able to assist with their bodies corporate needs.

This year, the exhibitor booths could only be described as a kaleidoscope of colour-with games, gimmicks and give-aways galore.

Suppliers to the industry included lawyers, accountants, painters; landscapers and even little ‘MAC’ the termite sniffing beagle-who no doubt, stole the show.

If you were unable to attend, here’s a quick re-cap of some of the highlights.

Attorney General and Minister of Justice Jarrod Bleijie announced there would be a major review to Queensland property law.

Mr Bleijie said he  aimed to get body corporate policy settings right and get rid of red tape.

He explained how he wanted to create a more streamlined and common sense approach to how Queenslanders buy, sell and manage property.

“To put it simply, property law in this state needs a makeover and we are determined to provide a first class framework that will meet the needs of Queenslanders well into the future,” Mr Bleijie said.

Following Mr Bleijie’s speech, he opened the floor  for a public Q & A session. Attendees were able to put forward their personal queries on body corporate  legislation- with a direct and immediate response.

SSKB Director Paul Wood spoke on “where does the money go?”, delivering an analysis of how money is spent within bodies corporate.

Post formalities, the floor was open to the exhibitors- who wowed attendees with their products, special offers, demonstrations and give-aways.
